David wants two friendlies for his boys

KUCHING: Sarawak’s Super League head coach David Usop is planning to have two friendly matches during the fasting month to keep his boys fit at the highest level in preparation for the remaining matches of the 2016-2017 season.

Having identified two teams in the Premier League as “sparring” partners for the Crocs, David said he will fix June 12 or June 13 if there are plane tickets.

“The friendly matches are vital to ensure that all the players are fit at their highest level as a preparation for the remaining matches of the season after the Hari Raya Adilfitri.

It will also give the opportunity for two new import players Sahil Suhaimi and Milos Raickovic to gel with the rest of the players.

David hoped that the two import players brought in during the transfer window will not disappoint him and the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) management.

The duo were fielded in the away match against Perak at the Perak Stadium on May 24 which ended in a goalless draw.

“I haven’t seen their true capabilities especially if they are able to gel with the other players.

“They have only played one match before the league break so I am hoping that they can utilise the break to gel with their teammates,” added David.

Sahil has been called up to join the Singapore national team for a series of friendly matches while Milos has returned to his homeland in Montenegro to attend to personal matters.

Sarawak will face Kelantan at the Sultan Muhammad IV on July 1.
