BRUNEI Darussalam national para bowlers Kamarul Ariffin bin Haji Abd Ghaffar, Khairul Anuar bin Haji Abd Ghaffar, Muhd Jamary bin Danggat and Saidin bin Haji Damit clinched silver in the Mixed Team TPB1+TPB2+TPB2+TPB3 event in the 9thAsean Para Games at the Sunway Mega Lanes, Sunway Pyramid in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday.

The national quartet contributed the country’s sixth silver in the 9th Asean Para Games after accumulating a total of 2654 pinfalls with Malaysia claiming gold with 2851 pinfalls and Thailand settling for bronze with 2,525 pinfalls.

Brunei’s silver success in the mixed team means that Kamarul Ariffin has successfully collected a medal in consecutive days during competition period after previously winning two silver and one gold.

Kamarul’s exploits in this Asean Para Games also made him the most decorated para athlete this year with Saidin Haji Damit and national para field athlete Alihan Muda running close.

Brunei’s best performance in the Asean Para Games came in Kuala Lumpur in 2009 when they managed to win nine gold, five silver and eight bronze.
