E! ZHUBIZ- PILIPINO MUSIC: Google honors Levi Celerio with a doodle

Levi Celerio, National Artist for Music and Literature, was remembered through a Google Doodle on his 108th birthday, April 30.

In the artwork, Celerio is shown playing the leaf instrument surrounded by sheet music, books, and a violin.

Because of his talent, Celerio was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Celerio was known for his classic hits  “Kahit Konting Pagtingin,” “Ugoy ng Duyan,” “Saan Ka Man Naroroon,” “Pasko Na Naman,” “Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon (Ang Pasko ay Sumapit),” “Misa de Gallo,” among others.

National Commission for Culture and the Arts described Celerio as a “prolific lyricist and composer for decades.”
