LETTERS-VOX POPULI: Bandar Seri Begawan – Setting a minimum wage limit to protect local workforce

OUR beautiful country – the abode of peace, is trying to localise the employment rate, which I strongly support.

But to my surprise, I observed that wages for the non- and semi-skilled workers such as those working in hotels and restaurants are low.

Even, foreign domestic helpers earn more.

I hope that the authority can look into this and perhaps set a minimum wage limit to protect our local workforce.
