E! TV SHOW: MANILA – Korean on PH-aired game show shines

Being part of the Filipino-Korean TV game show “Aja-Aja Tayo” on TV5 (airs Saturdays, 11:30 a.m.) is a new experience for me primarily because the production team is from Korea (feeling ko konti nalang Koreana nako!). Imagine getting instructions from Korean-speaking director, producer and writer (eh ang alam ko lang Korean ay “Annyeonghaseyo!”). Thank you to the interpreters who guide us (lakas maka-Ms. Universe sa taping!). One of them is Steena Koo who is also one of our co-hosts on the show. (Kaya mag-Tagalog, English, Korean kahit ata animal sounds, pwede!)

“I have been in the Philippines for 10 years now. I took up Mass Communication and specialized in Broadcasting. I want to show the people my talent and passion,” Steena shared. (So, naipakita na ba sa show ’yan?!)

Before our game show, she tried joining showbiz in Korea. (I-try ko rin kaya?)

“I’ve auditioned there. It was really hard. Many competitors. They are so good and talented. It’s like you cannot claim you are talented. There are always more talented persons than you,” Steena recalled. (Pakisabi po, sige, sila na!)

She thanks ShowBT, the Korean Production Team, based in Manila for considering her for our show. “ShowBT saw my videos on my social media accounts. I got a call and they told me they wanted me to be part of ‘Aja-Aja Tayo.’ I really thank them for this opportunity.” (Gusto ko rin pa-discover sa kanila! )

The 26-year-old Lyceum of the Philippines Cavite graduate feels blessed for having Filipino talents as co-hosts. (Aba, aba dapat lang girl!)

“Tito JoJo Alejar as my partner is amazing. Without him, I would not have lasted on the show. Ate Wilma Doesn’t and Mr. Fu also guided me in hosting. They are masters and experts in this industry, “ Steena said. (Ang lakas maka-institusyon ng statement mo samin ha!)

Steena also wants to try acting on teleseryes and pursue her love for singing. “I enjoy singing. It releases my stress. I like Kyla, Yeng Constantino and Up Dharma Down. When it comes to acting, I also want to try playing the role of a brokenhearted woman. This will be a great opportunity.” (Ay, gusto palang masaktan nito e!)

She has this to say to the Pinoy audience: “I am a Korean who loves to stay in the Philippines. I love this country. Thank you for loving and supporting me. I will continue to share my talents and do the things that will make all of you happy.” (At dahil dyan, Ligaya ang itawag natin sa kanya. Push!)
