The dinner event is to celebrate the many communities living together in our country, its president Brig-Gen (RTD) Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji said today.

“Significant for this event is that a number of Malay NGOs and religious organisations will be celebrating together, such as Perkasa, Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais), Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (Abim), the youth wing of PAS, Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia, the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, Malaysian Bahai Community, and many church and Christian leaders,” he said in a statement.

“The event provides hope for a revival of what the country was in its early days where race and religious issues were never an impediment to national unity and harmony. Patriot takes note of the warm receptivity to the objectives of the event.

“The overwhelming response by the various entities representing the many religious segments and bodies in the country is not only timely, but a greater step forward for a greater new Malaysia.”

Patriot also said this development is a marked departure from the divisive, threatening, seditious and diabolic antics of the past perpetrated by the previous regime that deprived Malaysians their right to greater coexistence.

“Let this Christmas dinner gathering be an important milestone to herald a rebirth of a loving, caring and understanding society in our new Malaysia where every son and daughter is proud to call, my home,” he added.
