    Glorious giving… Local residents in Phra Bat Huay Tom community in Lamphun’s Li district place food and other offerings on a 15-metre-high ‘tree of giving’ before a parade at Wat Phra Bat Huay Tom. A sleeping area was designated for partygoers who were too inebriated to make their way back to their accommodation. Officials said this was designed to boost their safety after a number of reported rapes and other crimes in the country’s southern islands in recent years. Wichan Charoenkiatpakul

Comprising of yellow sunn hemp fields, jogging tracks, and a bicycle lane, the park is open to the public between 5am-7am on weekdays and 5am-9am and 4.30pm-6.30pm at weekends. Patipat Janthong
