Old passenger buses abandoned on a 10-hectare field behind the Rawa Buaya bus station in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, have become a popular attraction for neighborhood children.

The buses were left there more than 15 years ago after they became unserviceable. Children often go there after school or during holidays to play games such as football and hide-and-seek among or inside the buses, which are by no means suitable as play areas due to many health and safety hazards.

Although the Jakarta administration built 290 child-friendly integrated public spaces in the capital last year, this shows that it still has a long way to go.
