HE Department of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday it will assist an estimated 10,000 Filipinos who might be deported as a result of Washington’s decision to rescind a program that allowed undocumented immigrant children to stay legally in the United States.

“The DACA program provides temporary legal status that allows qualified undocumented immigrant children from the Philippines and other countries to stay, study and work in the US,” Chuasoto said.
He pointed out that while the program does not lead to US citizenship, it is renewable every two years.
Chuasoto said that of the 3.4-million Filipinos in the US, about 310,000 are undocumented.
