ASEAN: THE Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) concludes Asean maritime exercise in Thailand

THE Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ship, KDB Daruttaqwa concluded its participation in the First Asean Maritime National Exercise (AMNEX) in Pattaya Bay, Thailand, together with 13 ships from the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and 24 other international ships.
The exercise was held in conjunction with the Asean International Fleet Review (IFR) 2017, which took place on November 19-20, following an opening ceremony at the Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Asean.
The ceremony was officially launched by General (Rtd) Prawit Wongsuwon, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.
Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the ceremonial inspection at the IFR 2017, while sailing past all the participating ships on board the HTMS Thalang.
