Aseanews Headlines: CNRP- USA against World Conference
The CNRP-USA (Cambodia National Rescue Party of the United States of America) fully backs former opposition leader Kem Sokha’s decision to not support the CNRP World Conference and to not recognize the Cambodian National Rescue Movement (CNRM).
This was the tenor of the American CNRP’s statement from November 30. It went on to say that the conference showed that some former supporters and leaders of the CNRP have defected to the CNRM, which divides Cambodians and the CNRP overseas.
The CNRP World Conference is to be held in the state of Georgia on Dec.1 and 2 (today and tomorrow). It is organised by Rithy Uong and Chea Kimly of the CNRM, which was founded by Sam Rainsy after the party he had headed – the CNRP – was dissolved.
