Writer-director James Wan is Malaysia’s biggest Hollywood success story by a mile – and his journey there gave him an unexpectedly personal connection to his latest hit film, the superhero blockbuster Aquaman.
Speaking to The Straits Times in New York earlier this month, the 41-year-old says he knows what it is like to straddle two cultures just like his half-human, half-aquatic hero.
