Five Filipino friends get together to publish home-maid recipes
When Ms Lita Patricio started working as a maid in Malaysia in 1993, she had never eaten Indian food before, much less cooked it.
She often had simple fare, like fried fish and vegetables, in her village in the Philippines. It was only in the home of her first employers – an Indian husband and Chinese wife – that she learnt dishes from other cuisines, including what is now her favourite: fish curry.
