Beautiful rainbow cloud amazes residents in the Philippines
A spectacular rainbow cloud amazed residents when it hovered in the sky like a huge multicoloured spaceship in the Philippines. The rare and perfectly formed phenomenon was captured over Quezon City in the Metro Manila area on May 27 at around 5:30pm. Onlooker, Aldrin, is heard in the video saying ‘wow, it’s very good, this is the first time I’ve seen this.” Aldrin said they were ”astonishingly vivid iridescent clouds”. The cloud iridescence phenomenon, also known as rainbow clouds or fire rainbows, happens when small water droplets or small ice crystals are suspended in the cloud. These then reflect the sunlight.
