HÀ NỘI — Confirmed coronavirus cases in Việt Nam topped the 800 mark on Saturday evening, as 21 new cases were reported by the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The 20 new cases of community transmission relating to Đà Nẵng City and one imported COVID-19 case means the country has now recorded 810 cases.
Among the patients, 15 are from Đà Nẵng, two from Quảng Nam Province, two from Bắc Giang Province, one from Khánh Hoà Province and one was quarantined upon arrival in Hà Nội.
Patient 790 in Hà Nội is a 17-year-old boy living in the southern province of Bình Dương. On August 6, he flew to Nội Bài International Airport from the US and was taken to quarantine upon arrival. After testing positive for SARS-COV-2, he was transferred for treatment to the Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
Patient 791 is a 45-year-old man residing in Cam Ranh City, Khánh Hoà Province.
Patients 792 and 796 are in Quảng Nam Province. One was a caregiver to a patient in the Dialysis Department of Đà Nẵng Hospital, while the other was a patient in the department.
The patients are being treated in the General Hospital of Quảng Nam Province.
Patients 793 and 794 are in Bắc Giang Province. They travelled to Đà Nẵng city from July 21 to 24 and are being treated in the Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
Of the 15 cases in Đà Nẵng City, one is a health worker, one a patient at a hospital and 13 are F1 cases relating to other cases in the city.
Of Việt Nam’s total 810 cases of COVID-19, a total of 353 have been linked to Đà Nẵng City since July 25.
Currently, 166,521 people are quarantined, including 6,929 at hospitals, 24,446 at quarantine facilities and 135,146 people at home. — VNS
