1,166 people test for COVID-19 since Hungarian FM’s visit
The Ministry of Health said today that 1,140 people had tested negative for COVID-19 since November 3 after they came in contact with infected Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
Two senior Cambodian officials and the Hungarian Ambassador to Cambodia and Vietnam were diagnosed with the virus yesterday.
The three new positive cases include Suos Yara, lawmaker and spokesman for the Cambodian People’s Party, Sar Chetra, deputy secretary-general of the Agriculture Ministry and Csaba Őry, the Hungarian Ambassador to Cambodia and Vietnam.
It said that a total of 1,166 people both in the first and second testing were tested by the Pasteur Institute yesterday.
It said that the results of 1,140 samples were negative and 23 others are pending as they will be released today.
The ministry said that since November 3, four people have contracted the virus while being exposed to the Hungarian Minister.
Cambodia recorded 300 COVID-19 cases (60 women and 240 men), with 288 recoveries and 12 active cases.
