Brunei records 194 days without local COVID-19 transmission
Brunei Darussalam marked its 25th day without any new COVID-19 cases and 194th day with no local transmissions yesterday, keeping the national tally of confirmed cases at 148.
The latest update of the current COVID-19 situation was released by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in its daily statement.
The MoH has taken 270 samples for the SARS-CoV-2 virus testing in the past 24 hours and has conducted 73,507 tests since January. A total of 433 individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad, while 8,003 have completed their stint since March.
Healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there have been 114 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 28 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.

Cambodia
There has been +1 new positive case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia. The tally is at 302. No deaths. Total recovered at 289.
303rd COVID-19 positive case detected in Cambodia
Cambodia registered its 303rd COVID-19 positive on a 56 year old Cambodian-American national.
He had flown into Cambodia via Taipei on 15 November. The test results of the man provided by the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge in Phnom Penh was positive for COVID-19. He is currently being treated at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital.
There were 165 passengers on the flight, including the infected victim. A total of 164 passengers with negative test results were placed in quarantine for 14 days at a Secondary School and several hotels in Phnom Penh.

A total of 303 people have been detected, of which the number of patients treated is now 291 people nationwide, with 12 patients at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh. Figures from November 16 state 209,110 tests have been conducted.
The total confirmed 303 cases in the Kingdom comprise 188 Cambodians, 45 French, 18 Chinese, 13 Malaysians, 9 Indonesians, 9 Americans, 6 British, 3 Vietnamese, 3 Canadians, 3 Indians, 2 Hungarians, 1 Belgian, 1 Kazakhstani, 1 Polish, and 1 Pakistani.
Against the backdrop of this new positive case, two warded patients were discharged after treatment at the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital.
They were Mr. Sous Yara, 47 years old, a member of the National Assembly who was involved in the incident on November 3, and a 31-year-old Cambodian woman from Kratie who traveled from Japan vis South Korea to Cambodia on October 19, 2020.

The country reported +3,535 new infections, taking the totals to 470,648 infections with +85 new deaths, bringing total to 15,296 deaths.
Laos
No new case recorded, total at 24. No deaths.
Malaysia
The country reported +1,103 new cases, taking the total to 48,520 with +4 new deaths, total deaths at 313.

Malaysia in deal with China for Covid-19 vaccine development

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with China to cooperate on the development of a safe and efficacious vaccine, as part of efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Under the agreement, in force for an initial period of five years, the Southeast Asian nation will be given priority access to Covid-19 vaccines developed by China. Both will share knowledge and expertise and facilitate scientific and technological capabilities to advance vaccine development in their countries, Malaysia said in a joint ministerial statement.

Myanmar reported +1,167 new cases, taking total to 70,161 and +22 new deaths, total is at 1,599 deaths.
Philippines
The Philippines recorded +1,738 new cases, bringing the total to 409,574 with +7 new deaths, bringing total 7,839 deaths.
