Once the money is received, the honorary doctorate would apparently be given out at a ceremony at a four-star hotel in Shah Alam.

It is believed that up to 35 people have been convinced to make the donation.

The university claims to be internationally recognised with links to a global voluntary initiative, which is supportive of the United Nations.

It also claims to have branches in India and Switzerland.

However, checks by Berita Harian indicated that the university merely operated from an office near the outskirts of the Shah Alam industrial area without a proper campus or students.

Apparently, the university was not listed with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

> A bride in Klang did not want to miss the happiest day of her life even if she had to be part of it from a stretcher, Sinar Harian reported.

Farah Amirah Sarifuddin, 24, suffered a broken bone in her right thigh after a car accident about a week ago.

Initially, she did not think she would be well enough to marry her Mr Right, Muhammad Faiz Aqwa.

But she was recovering well after undergoing a third surgery and was brought home in time for her marriage.

She said she wanted to proceed with the ceremony which she had planned a year ago as she did not want to disappoint her parents who had already sent out the invitations.

“I was unconscious when the accident happened and I cannot believe I made it out alive after seeing the badly damaged vehicles.

“Thank God I am able to go through with this ceremony,” she said.

> Actress Siti Saleha has limited herself to two acting projects a year since she got married in 2017, Metro Ahad said.

She said this was to ensure a good balance of family life and her acting career.

The 29-year-old is also more selective of her acting roles so that she could play a diverse range of characters.

“I have to do that because I’ve been receiving many roles that are so similar,” she said.

Among her projects include a drama featured in TV3’s Samarinda slot and another one scheduled for Hari Raya.
