CAMBODIA
There has been 303 new positive case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia. The tally is at 7,747. 56 deaths. Total recovered at 2,794
8 percent of the population vaccinated in two months
As of yesterday, nearly 1.3 million people across the country have received at least their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in Cambodia, according to the Ministry of Health.
The ministry said it had inoculated 1,277,688 people, equal to around eight percent of the total population. Among them, 983,145 are civilians while 294,543 are from the military.
The vaccines being used include Sinopharm, Sinovac and AstraZeneca. Cambodia has so far accrued 1.3 million doses of Sinopharm, two million doses of Sinovac and 324,000 doses of AstraZeneca.

Rollout of Covid-19 vaccination programme speeds up
People in Vientiane and some provinces have now had their first and second doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
More people have been going to vaccination centres around the country for vaccinations since the programme was launched in March.
The government plans to vaccinate at least 150,000 people in the initial stages of the programme.

OCTA: Virus spread slows, but not enough to ease NCR Plus curbs
The transmission rate of the COVID-19 virus has slowed down, but not enough to be a basis for relaxing mobility restrictions in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus bubble, the independent research group OCTA group said on Thursday.
OCTA research fellow Guido David said the reproduction rate of the virus had gone down further to R=0.99, from 1.96 a week before the government announced quarantine restrictions in the NCR Plus bubble, which includes Metro Manila and the provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has personally vowed to support Thailand’s Covid-19 battle and will therefore be selling it his country’s Sputnik V vaccine, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced on Thursday.
The PM revealed on his Facebook page that Mr Putin had agreed to make the Sputnik jabs available to Thailand via a “government-to-government” contract.
