Lockdowns, curfew, coloured hot zones and cases keep increasing in Phnom Penh to almost 9,000 cases
On 1 April, 29 days ago, Phnom Penh imposed an 8pm to 5am curfew in an attempt to restrict gatherings and partying, to curb the raging and ravaging Covid-19 pandemic.
The pandemic started because of nefarious actions by a gang of four ‘supposed to be quarantined’ females who ‘escaped’ – or rather bribed their way out – to leave quarantine at the Sokha Hotel, a day after they had checked in for what was supposed to be a 14 day quarantine period.
On 20 February, Prime Minister Hun Sen went live on television and announced the 3rd community outbreak since November 3, 2020.

The Ministry of Information has issued travel guidelines for journalists during the Phnom Penh and Takhmao city lockdown after noticing that some of them do not fully understand the restrictions set.
