The Covid-19 variant, Omicron, is posing a new threat to the economy. It is time to explore how we can adapt to the threat of further Covid-19 disruption, and the hope for the future as we enter the new year.
For almost two years, Covid-19 has gripped the world, affecting local businesses and the economy. However, as global vaccinations pass 7.9 billion doses and more than 54% of the world’s population has received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, glimpses of post-Covid life are emerging.
Despite the challenges posed by the new variant, Omicron, one thing that is clear is that Covid-19 won’t stop humanity from progressing.

As Cambodia crossed the 80 percent threshold for herd immunity against COVID-19 and low new infection and mortality rate, its vaccination campaign has begun to falter.
Overall vaccination at 88.29 percent has been stagnant at 88 percent plus for a while adolescents vaccination has also been stagnant at the 98 percent plus at 98.67 percent for quite a while although 140,000 was removed from the targeted number inexplicably.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Friday called for Myanmar to be given space to return to normalcy, in accordance with the will of its people. The monarch said this during the Retreat Session of the 13th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit, held virtually from Baitul Mesyuarah, Istana Nurul Iman, during which His Majesty said the situation in the Southeast Asian country is a challenging matter, given its long and complex history since gaining independence over 70 years ago.
