The news was confirmed by Ruel S. Bayani, head of ABS-CBN International Production, saying that he understands why the actress couldn’t help but share the news ahead of the official announcement earlier.
“It’s a very good role. I’m very thrilled for her. She’s playing a major role and a very good one. It’s a great script,” he said.
As to why ABS-CBN is also co-producing the said series with Filipino-American actor Reggie Lee, Filipino-American film producer Jeremiah Abraham and Only Human Productions, Ruel stated that they wanted to be supportive of Sharon.

“ABS-CBN will be the local production company for the filming of the scenes here in the Philippines,” he said. “We will be also helping them with casting, with our Filipino actors and our Star Magic talents.”
According to previous reports, the upcoming series “seeks to examine the world of an Asian-American crime patriarch, a world of drugs and money, but also heritage and pride, viewed through origins, history, choices and consequences.”
Sharon shared about the project in early February, telling her fans that it was “just a job”. She also found it funny that the title of the series is also the name of her ex-husband, Gabby Concepcion.
