Fans will now know that Hellfire Club leader Eddie Munson did not survive the battle against Vecna’s dark forces and is still believed by many in Hawkins to have been responsible for the murders, but Brit actor Joseph Quinn who played him told Radio Times that he felt lucky to have been given such a great part.
He said: “I think there’s a great beginning, there’s a great middle and a great end for the character.
“And as an actor you want characters with those kinds of arcs. So whilst it would have been great to come back for another season and get together with all those lovely people again, I think it was a brilliantly realised ending for a brilliantly written character.”

In his final scenes, Eddie teams up with Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) to distract monster Vecna by playing Metallica on his electric guitar from the roof of a caravan, which Quinn described as “thrilling to do on the day”.
He added that it was extra special as for many on set, they had not seen any live music played since the COVID pandemic put a halt to events and performances.
Quinn said: “It’s a fantastic conclusion to the character and yeah, I feel very very lucky.”
He also shared that he would love to come back for season five, the final one, as “a figment of Gaten’s imagination or something”, but admitted that he thought his character was done.
But Quinn said he would like to see Eddie’s name cleared of the Hawkins murders before Stranger Things wraps up after he made the ultimate sacrifice to save a town who had turned their backs on him.
