Cambodia’s most famous rapper Mann Vannda who goes by his stage name Vann Da says it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony.

“It was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I can’t explain how I got to perform at the Paris Olympics’ closing ceremony. But I am quite delighted to have performed and been able to promote the Khmer language and flag at the world’s largest athletic event. I’m not sure how many years it will take to be invited again,” he said.

Vann Da told reporters at the Phnom Penh International Airport on Wednesday morning.

“It’s a new chapter for us Cambodians, and I’m quite proud of it. I am grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. I hope that other Cambodian artists will get the opportunity to perform at the event in the future,” Vann Da added.

Vann Da came to the global stage during the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on Sunday, performing his hit song “Time to Rise”.
