Minister of Interior Sar Sokha instructed the General Department of Immigration (GDI) to improve certain aspects of immigration management during a meeting with GDI leaders and officials at the Ministry of Interior on Thursday.

Minister Sokha noted that the GDI has been working to develop the preparation, governance and technology structure, while also giving priority to the five-year strategic plan (2024-2028).

The third factor highlighted by the Minister was the effectiveness of law enforcement, including immigration work, such as gate management, modernisation of entry-exit data management technology, management and updating of foreigners’ accommodation, investigations and implementation procedures for operating the e-GDI system for managing official data, processing the Cambodia e-Arrival programme and providing immigration services to national and international guests as well.
