COUNTING THE DAYS … … A Poem by Tessa
COUNTING THE DAYS
Why count the days
anyway
you’re leaving.
Why dread the
miles and
miles apart.
They can be
reached with
a blink of an
eye.
For no one can
stop the
speed of
time.
Parting is sad
hello is
better than
goodbye.
Certainty of the
future is
dim and
bleak.
But adds spices
and
challenges
Interesting to
note what
tomorrow
brings.
Like flowing
water that
never
comes back.
Seasons come
and go
unnoticed.
As days and
nights
take their
toils
And time lost
can
never be redeemed.
Counting the
days
seem to
be
a
pattern.
It brings
hope to a
gloomy
sky.
A ray of
sunshine
peeps
through
the
clouds.
Heralding
joyously
your
near
away
from
home.
