PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: Filipino wrestler Ronil Tubog seized a gold medal in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at the Chroy Changvar Convention Center on Tuesday, May 16.

Tubog ruled the men’s 61kg freestyle as the Philippines raised its gold medal tally to 54.

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: Kickboxer Claudine Veloso seized a gold medal in the women’s -52kg of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at the Elephant Hall on Tuesday, May 16.

With her win, Veloso hiked the Philippine gold medal haul to 58.

De Paz secures gold in SEAG kickboxing

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: Filipino kickboxer Gretel De Paz came out on top in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games women’s 56kg lowkick as she plucked a gold medal at the Elephant Hall on Tuesday, May 16.

De Paz gave the Philippines its 57th overall gold and perhaps the country’s last one in the Games, which competitions ends today.

PHNOM PENH – It’s probably the sweetest, most meaningful celebration of a Southeast Asian Games gold medal in men’s basketball ever for the Philippines.

For nearly a year, Gilas Pilipinas and 100 million hoops-crazy countrymen patiently waited for redemption from the “Horror in Hanoi.”

From unlikely, even unacceptable, silver in the Vietnam SEAG, the Nationals are now back to their lofty perch as kings of the region.

This they formalized by beating group stage conqueror Cambodia and its host of naturalized players in yesterday’s finale, 80-69, at the Morodok Elephant Hall 2.
