CRIME AND LAW: SWEDEN- Filipina beaten to death by Swedish husband, says PH embassy in Oslo
Consul General Ma. Elena Algabre of the Philippine Embassy in Oslo discusses the case of murdered Filipina Mailyn Conde Sinambong with her maternal aunt Lugina Eliasen in Stockholm on Monday before meeting with the Swedish lawyer handling the case. During the meeting, Ms. Eliasen was able to talk with Mrs. Maria Monato, mother of the deceased who is in Cebu, to update her of developments related to the case.

THE Filipina in Sweden who was reportedly killed by her actor-husband died from injuries she sustained after she was severely beaten by the suspect, the Philippine embassy in Oslo said on Tuesday.
Mailyn Conde Sinambong was the wife of Steve Abou Bakr Aalam, a 50-year-old Swedish actor-director, She died at their residence in Kista, northwest of Stockholm, on the evening of September 23.
Sinambong, a 28-year-old mother of two boys aged 10 and 4, hailed from Cebu.
The Philippine embassy in Oslo said that Aalam was taken into custody and will be charged with murder.

The embassy, in coordination with Filipino priests and the Filipino Community in Stockholm, organized a memorial mass for Sinambong on Tuesday to take place at the Heliga Trefaldighets Catholic Church in Järfällavägen 150, 177 41 Järfälla, Sweden at 7 p.m.
Consul General Ma. Elena Algabre arrived in Stockholm and met with the lawyer and prosecutor handling the case of Sinambong for arrangements on her repatriation.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano assured Sinambong’s family that the Philippine government was committed to obtaining justice for her death. BERNADETTE TAMAYO
