Asian Games Organizer Works Closely With Supreme Audit Agency

Jakarta. The Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee, or Inasgoc, is determined to produce transparent reports of its spending for the upcoming edition of the games in Jakarta and South Sumatra’s Palembang.

Inasgoc has been partially dependent on state funds, which makes it accountable to the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

“We’ve been coordinating with the BPK … recently we’ve presented our tasks to BPK to make our financial report more transparent,” Inasgoc chairman Erick Thohir said, as quoted in a press release on Tuesday (17/10).

Inasgoc is expected to use about Rp 4.5 trillion (around $333 million) on the 2018 Asian Games.

“We expect BPK to continuously monitor our activities,” he added.

Inasgoc’s steering committee is led by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, who this month said that all preparations are on the right track.
