MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration on Tuesday has confirmed that alleged half-Filipino Marilou Danley, initially a person of interest in the Las Vegas shooting that left 59 people dead and injured more than 500 others, was recently in the country.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, there is no official confirmation yet on Danley’s nationality but she was reportedly in the Philippines at the time of the incident.

Despite this, the BI said it is willing to cooperate in the investigation on Danley and her possible involvement in the Las Vegas shooting.

Although it confirmed the arrival of Danley, BI stressed that she is a private person.

“Based on reports Marilou Danley is not a suspect and appears to have been cleared by the police, we are not inclined to release any information at this time. The information being confidential,” the bureau said.

“We assure though that the BI shall cooperate with any and all of our international counterparts in providing any relevant information that would help their investigation,” she added.

Earlier, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said they have contacted Danley and believed she is not involved in the shooting spree.

“Marilou Danley is no longer being sought out as a person of interest,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.

Danley, 62, was identified as the “regular companion” of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock. The latter is a 64-year-old retired accountant who fired at the concert-goers from a hotel window.

The alleged Australian-Filipino described herself as a gambling and casinos professional in Reno and Nevada on her LinkedIn account. She also listed herself as a high limit hostess at Club Paradise, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno between 2010 and 2013.

A report from the AFP said that Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop claimed Danley is Australian but she was initially believed to be Filipino-American. It added that Danley moved to the United States of America 20 years ago to work on the casino strip.

Like the Philippine immigration, the Australian government said it would support the US authorities in their investigation.

Paddock killed himself after the fatal shooting spree. The motive of the crime is still being determined.
