that led to the killing of thousands of drug suspects, the Philippine government received criticisms over its approach in Geneva, Switzerland.Before the United Nationa Human Rights Council in September, the human rights situation in the Philippines was reviewed by different nations, many of whom urged Duterte’s government to halt and investigate the deaths in the drug war.

The Department of Foreign Affairs, however, claimed that the Philippines scored a victory in its Universal Periodic Review. The statement did not accurately reflect what happened.
