VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED
KUALA LUMPUR: It’s quite a head-scratcher – but a chicken in Thailand has survived for over a week without its head.
The fantastic fowl was discovered last week in the Mueang Ratchaburi district of Ratchaburi province, having just been decapitated in a suspected animal attack.
According to the Daily Mail, it was promptly taken under the care of veterinarian Supakadee Arun Thong, who fed and nursed the bird by dropping food and antibiotics down its neck.
The not-so-chicken chicken’s story was first shared by social media user ‘Noppong Thitthammo’, who also helped the vet raise funds for the amazing animal.
News of the anatomy-challenged chicken has since gone hugely viral – so it seems that in losing its head, it gained instant fame, and has been dubbed “True Warrior” by awed Thais.
The tale of the ‘headstrong’ headless bird continues, as it has since been adopted by a group of kind monks.
Recent social media video of the monks feeding the chicken using a syringe has been viewed countless times, with netizens expressing bewilderment over its survival. (It takes a lickin’, but keeps on bein’ a chicken)
So the next time you ‘lose your head’ and call someone “chicken”, remember that you’re paying them a compliment.
