Bogor. The students at SDN Mutiara elementary school in Bogor, West Java, have not been able to study in their normal classrooms for the past month, when their school collapsed.

The building was built in 1984, and was renovated in 2008.

About 53 students now attend class in a makeshift tent in front of the collapsed building in Kampung Pasir Bayur, within Bogor.

The tent, constructed from wooden boards and a tarpaulin roof, is unable to withstand even the slightest inclement weather.

Selva, a teacher at SDN Mutiara, had submitted renovation proposals to Bogor’s education board in 2016 and 2017. Both proposals were ignored.
