Jakarta. Google’s email service Gmail and Drive, the company’s cloud storage service, has been experiencing unexplained crashes since Wednesday morning (13/03) with users claiming they are unable to upload attachments or send emails.

Drive users also complained about issues with uploading and downloading files from the site.

The same error is experienced across several countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and parts of Malaysia and Indonesia, according to Down Detector, a website dedicated to detecting outages of services across the Internet.

In the comments section of the site, users from Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Philippines claimed they were also having the same problem. Europe and South America are also reportedly experiencing the service outage. Other users claimed since then they have been able to use the service normally.

Gmail has more than one billion users in the world.

Google made a statement on their website, saying they are “investigating reports of an issue with Gmail and Drive” and that they will “provide more information shortly.”

“Affected users are able to access Drive, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior,””the company said.

“Users will have issues accessing or attaching files in various products. This includes Gmail and Drive,” Google said.

Users of another Google product, Google Maps, also claimed to have issues with their street-view feature appearing as a black screen instead of street pictures.

Google has yet to confirm this in their G suite status dashboard.

Google has not release any information on the cause of this global outage or how long it would last.
