Ms Sathirakawinskul Monsinee, Head of Cambodia Operations says, “Sanofi always focuses on patients’ needs. We are here to improve access to medicines and healthcare so that they can live a healthier and fuller life”.
“Sanofi also believes that providing education and raising disease awareness is a continuous and endless journey for Sanofi in Cambodia.”
With Cambodia’s rapid development, people have also been exposed to more pollution and dust that are always present in our working and living environment. Small particles from air-conditioners, smoke from cars, dander shed from lovely pets, and other sources have caused us different disturbing symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, red eye, etc. These symptoms hinder people from performing well, thus, making us miss the best parts of life.
Dr. Ung Norin, Specialist on Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) explains that Allergic Rhinitis is the inflammation of the membrane in the nose due to various substances that enter the air and interact with our immune system (allergens). Pet dander, mould, dust mites, pollen and other substances in the air etc. are the common causes of allergy.
To protect ourselves from Allergic Rhinitis, says Dr. Norin, we should avoid direct contact with substances that causes inflammation. We can start by cleaning our bedrooms more often, dusting off our air-conditioner units, avoiding cigarette smoke and wearing masks.

This year’s World Allergy Week campaign is just one of the various disease awareness and prevention campaign that Sanofi Cambodia actively supports. The pharmaceutical company aims to provide education on scientific updates on healthcare and medicine to healthcare professionals and to the Cambodian public.
