BANGKOK (Xinhua) – Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday apologised to the people for the reported mess inside the Palang Pracharath Party, core of his coalition government.

In his statement issued at the Government House, Chan-o-cha admitted that he has been upset and concerned over the reported haggling and tussling for Cabinet seats between varied factions inside the Palang Pracharath Party.

He pledged to do his best to put an end to such “internal conflict” among the party’s factions.

He said the major government party consists of several factions where leading members had expressed intents to help him run the country. Chan-o-cha earlier assured that there would be no more changes to the cabinet lineup and that his new government will take office by the middle of this month after Cabinet members swear in front of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
