It doesn’t have to be one of those expensive and fancy artisan brands, either, because the fruits will serve as the dominant flavor and therefore the star of the mix. As such, basic vodka will do.

  • II. And, I know we are calling this recipe fruit vodka, but no one says you can’t use other liquor if you’d prefer. You may choose other spirits such as gin, tequila, or bourbon! The thing to remember here is that you are making a DIY drink, so go nuts and do whatever you think will taste amazing. Use your creative juices to create the perfect boozy juices!

  • III. The perfect ratio of fruit to vodka is two cups of chopped fruit for every two to three cups of vodka. Infuse it for three to five days to get the best-balanced blend. For a sweeter result, add simple syrup to your vodka after the infusion. If you want a stronger flavor, then add more fruit. Make sure you have enough vodka to cover the entire fruit, though, because any exposed fruit will spoil during the process, ruining your invention (and creating much disappointment). You don’t have to worry about bacteria or mold growing on the submerged fruit during the infusion, because the alcohol will stop that from happening.

  • IV. Now that you’ve made your very own blend, you might ask, what am I going to do with it? Well, fruit vodkas are great for flavoring cocktails. You can also simply add some ice, and you have a martini! You can be creative as well with how you infuse your fruit vodka into your favorite cocktail drinks. One final hint: fruit vodkas are also amazing for jello shots!
