China stands ready to work with Cambodia to take effective measures to deepen law enforcement and security cooperation to the benefit of our peoples,” he added.

Prime Minister Hun Sen on Sunday issued a directive banning all online and arcade gambling in the Kingdom in a bid to safeguard security and public order.

San Chey, executive director of the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability, said China strives to maintain a clean reputation, meanwhile, some Chinese nationals living in the Kingdom continue to commit offences, including online extortion through Voice over Internet Protocol.

“It is not strange that China supports Cambodia, because some online gambling operations involve Chinese nationals, and Chinese nationals are often the target of public criticism over VoIP scams and other crimes,” Mr Chey said.
