COVID-19 “The 2019 Plague” Day 154: BRUNEI- No new COVID-19 cases recorded, total still at 138

Brunei Darussalam continued to flatten the COVID-19 curve yesterday without any new cases recorded in the country for the ninth consecutive day. This means the total number of COVID-19 cases remains at 138.

The latest development on COVID-19 was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference at the Al-‘Afiah Hall yesterday.
“Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah the Almighty, there are no new cases of COVID-19 infection in the country.

“No case has recovered from COVID-19 today, therefore the total number of recovered cases remains at 124. This brings the number of active cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre at 13 cases, with two still in critical condition and requiring heart/lung machine (ECMO) and respiratory assistance. Meanwhile, the rest are in a stable condition,” he added.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said, “Some 66 individuals are undergoing quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) and 2,509 individuals have completed their quarantine. In the past 24 hours, 114 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus which brings the number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 13,263 tests.”

Regarding the relapsed cases, he said there are no new cases. This brings the total number of relapsed cases to 21, of which seven are still undergoing examination and testing.

In its breakdown of COVID- 19 cases in the country, the web application revealed that the Brunei-Muara District has 111 cases, Belait District 21 and Tutong District six.
