ELEVEN MEDIA GROUP – A 100-year-old Myanmar woman was among COVID-19 patients discharged from hospital, according to Member of Parliament (MP) Wai Phyo Han.

The MP’s social media post said Thein Khin contracted COVID-19 from her grandson and was sent to GTI quarantine centre and then transferred to Insein Yoma Yeiktha after the Ministry of Health and Sports confirmed that she tested positive on September 23. After treatment, she was discharged on October 8.

Being a centenary person, she became the oldest woman to suffer COVID-19 in Myanmar as well as the oldest person to beat the virus according to Wai Phyo Han.

The grandmother and family members are undergoing home quarantine for seven days.
