The Filipinos entered the delayed Olympics in high spirits following the country’s overall championship feat at the 2019 SEA Games where they reaped 149 gold, 117 silver and 121 bronze medals.

Sports officials hope to continue these successful stints in the Hangzhou Asian Games in China and Vietnam SEA Games where Vietnam is host.

Meanwhile, United States won the most gold medals in the Olympiad with 39 golds. China was one gold medal short with 38, followed by host Japan with 27 and Great Britain with 22.
