ASEANews HEADLINES: BRUNEI DARUSSALAM – Surge in COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam continued to record a surge in COVID-19 cases with a record high of 197 new cases yesterday. The latest new cases bring the tally of confirmed cases to 1,333.

In the latest cases included one newly identified cluster and a high of 74 new cases from an unknown source of infection.

Details of the latest COVID-19 cases was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference yesterday.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin also participated.

Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said, “This increase includes 106 new cases of outstanding laboratory tests, while 91 cases are from tests conducted by the Laboratory Services Department in the last 24 hours.”

Outlining the new cases, he said, “Twenty-seven cases for the Chung Hua KB Cluster, 25 for Champion 7 Cluster – Blue Titanium, 10 for Champion 7 Cluster – Posh Elegance, 10 for Champion 7 Cluster – Platform; and one for Champion 7 Cluster – Others.
