.The National Taskforce for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on Friday announced 1,004 new cases of Covid, along with five more deaths from the virus.
The new cases were identified after 9,011 tests were conducted across the country over the previous 24 hours. Seven of the new cases were detected among people entering Laos.
The total number of Covid cases recorded to date now stands at 77,500.

As Cambodia continues to march forwards with ‘reopening’ – despite the Omicron mutation that is spreading rapidly around the world – The Kingdom once again recorded low daily new COVID case figures (diagnosed by PCR test) in an incredible run of 65 days of ‘new normal’ low case numbers.
Today’s official daily new COVID case total (diagnosed by PCR test) was 25, bringing the COVID case total to 120,232 cases.

CAMBODIA
Cambodia donates 500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine
.The Royal Government of Cambodia has provided 500,000 doses of the Chinese-made Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine to bolster Laos’ efforts to tackle the virus outbreak.
This was the third shipment of the Sinovac vaccine donated by the Cambodian government to Laos, after the first arrived at the end of 2020, and the second, containing 200,000 doses, was delivered in September this year.

Omicron patient now free of Covid-19, says DG
KUALA LUMPUR : The result of a Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test sample of a traveller who was recorded as the first positive COVID-19 Omicron variant in the country was negative.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the results were also negative for seven close contacts of the traveller namely, the driver, a university employee, three students and two roommates.
