 Jollibee Foods Corporation and its Hong Kong-based partner have agreed with Dunkin’ Donuts Franchising LLC to terminate their Master Franchise Agreement (MFA) for Dunkin’ which covers certain territories in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Jollibee said the franchise was held by Golden Cup Pte. Ltd. which is owned by wholly-owned subsidiary Jollibee Worldwide Pte, Ltd. and Jasmine Asset Holdings, Ltd., an entity organized in Hong Kong.

The parties disclosed that the operations of Beijing Golden Cup Corporation, which operates seven Dunkin’ restaurants in Beijing, has been terminated as well.

The Master Franchise Agreement on Dunkin’ was entered into on January 5, 2015 between Golden Cup Pte, Ltd. and Dunkin’ Donuts Franchising of Delaware.

“Jollibee Foods Corporation will focus on building its business in China through its larger businesses there, Yonghe King (418 stores), Hong Zhuang Yuan (55 stores) and Tim Ho Wan (13 stores) for a total of 486 stores in China as at September 30, 2022,” the firm said.

JFC also has 21 Jollibee stores in Hong Kong and 3 Jollibee stores in Macau. The firm said it looks forward to building a significant business in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.

Dunkin’, which operates more than 2,100 restaurants in the Asia-Pacific region, plans to continue expanding its footprint across China and the broader region through franchising.

JFC is one of Asia’s largest restaurant companies. At the end of September 30, 2022, JFC was operating 6,351 stores worldwide: 3,238 in the Philippines and 3,113 overseas.

Its branches overseas include 486 in China, 385 in North America, 319 in EMEAA, 592 with SuperFoods mainly in Vietnam, 1,053 with CBTL and 278 with Milksha. Its largest brands by store outlets worldwide are Jollibee with 1,552, CBTL 1,053, Chowking 612, Mang Inasal 574 and Highlands Coffee 562.
