President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said on Sunday, ahead of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, that the Myanmar crisis must end soon.
Jokowi arrived in Labuan Bajo on Sunday to inspect the final preparations for the event before chairing the summit on Tuesday.
More than 700 delegates have confirmed their attendance, with ASEAN leaders again choosing to bar Myanmar’s military administration from attending the summit due to its lack of progress in implementing the Five-Point Consensus (5PC), an ASEAN peace plan the junta chief agreed to after the coup in 2021.
