Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ Sign

There is always that one place where people feel right at home, even when they’re thousands of miles away. For Filipinos in Las Vegas, that place is easily Gimik Republik.

This happening destination never fails to remind Filipino communities in California of home. They have a comforting menu of “lutong bahay” (home-cooked dishes), including street food favorites that are the perfect beer match for Pinoys. And, of course, a live band is featured on stage every night, playing the best-loved OPM songs from pop to rock and every tune in between.

Gimik Republik owners John Claudio and Geraldine Zheng are happy to reopen every Filipino’s favorite destination in Las Vegas.

Gimik Republik, whose name was coined to describe a place for people to connect and have fun, first opened 2019 in the Chinatown district of Las Vegas. It quickly became a favorite hub for fun-loving Filipino immigrants who hang out to enjoy authentic Pinoy food and live OPM music.

Like many other businesses that faced hardship during the pandemic season, Gimik Republik temporarily closed but made a fresh start late last year. It returned with a bang via a two-day grand relaunch that drew a standing-room-only crowd.

The two-day event featured the best Filipino live bands in Las Vegas, among them, Heroes of the Day, The Playlist LV, Left Arm Scar, Vegas Pnoy Band and The Hausband. They played the iconic music of Filipino rock bands like Eraserheads and Rivermaya. The second night treated audiences to a spontaneous jamming session with celebrity guests Teddy Corpuz of “It’s Showtime” and Gladys Guevarra, formerly of “Eat Bulaga.”

There is Industry Night every Tuesday, which especially caters to service workers with crazy price cuts on everything on the menu; Girls Night Out every Wednesday, where ladies take center stage; and the famous No Cover Live Band entertainment every Friday and Saturday.
