Integrated Water Resorce Management (IWRM)

ASEAN Working Group on Water Resources Management (AWGWRM)

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) established the ASEAN Working Group on Water Resources Management (AWGWRM) to strengthen regional cooperation in freshwater management across the ASEAN region.
As part of its strategic initiative to advance Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) among ASEAN Member States (AMS), the AWGWRM has implemented a range of IWRM-related projects. This website presents comprehensive annual reports on IWRM performance in ASEAN countries, addressing six key water management issues through a carefully selected set of performance indicators.
The 6 key water management issues are –
(a) Water Supply Management,
(b) Irrigation Management,
(c) Stormwater Management
(d) Flood Management
(e) Water Pollution Management
(f) Sanitation Management.
Additionally, the website offers an overview of IWRM implementation in each ASEAN Member State, along with blog posts featuring updates on water-related news and events from across the region.
