Coffee shop pens encouraging note to customer after civil engineering boards
“Kasama mo kami. Lalaban ulit tayo.”
A coffee shop shared messages of support to a customer who left a note after failing to see his/her name in the list of civil engineering board passers for November 2022.
Kaulayaw Coffee on Tuesday posted a message left by an aspiring engineer who thanked them for offering “great food [and] coffee.”

Today was the worst day, I think. This day, the result of my board exam for Civil Engineering [was] released, but my name wasn’t on the list. I literally [cried] when I saw that. All the way from Caloocan, I drove here to Antipolo to go to my favorite CHURCH and MY SAFE PLACE. I cried again in front of the altar and also give him thanks and said, I KNOW YOU HAVE A BETTER PLAN FOR ME.

“RCE” stands for registered civil engineer.
The coffee shop responded to its customer through a Facebook post.
“To our dearest customer who wrote this today, we are praying for your success and we will wait for you here at the cafe, Engineer!” it said with a heart emoji.
“KASAMA MO KAMI. LALABAN ULIT TAYO, KAULAYAW! Isang mahigpit na yakap at mainit na kape para sa inyo!” the coffee shop added.
It also congratulated those who took the civil engineering boards for a “battle bravely fought.”
Other Filipinos who saw the post also expressed words of encouragement to the customer.
“That’s the spirit! Don’t give up and lose hope. Everything happens for a reason. Keep fighting! God bless you!” a Facebook user wrote.
“Praying for you. Isang yakap. Madami kami angel na magdadasal sa iyo. Go straight to that goal, Engr,” another online user commented.
“Keep going. Exams are not perfect, and God has a perfect time. Praying for you, be so blessed,” wrote a different Pinoy.
The civil engineering boards is the licensure exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission to aspiring civil engineers.
A total 20,407 examinees took the tests held in various parts of the country on November 19 and 20.
Those who passed are required to register and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals.
Civil engineers are responsible for planning and overseeing the construction, rebuilding and maintenance of roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, dams, harbors, power plants and airports, among others.

Jesus the Black Nazarene, also known as Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno and Mahal na Poong Hesus Nazareno or Mahal Na Poong Señor Nazareno is a life-size image of Jesus Christ carrying a big wooden cross in a semi kneeling position, clothed in a maroon-colored robe, with a crown of thorns and a diadem in the form of three silver rays. On May 31, 1606 the original image of the Black Nazarene was made by a Mexican sculptor and was being sent to Manila from Acapulco, Mexico by the first group of Augustinian Recollect Friars. However, the ship caught fire burning and charring the originally fair complexion of the image.
It is faith in Christ and the favors granted that intensify the devotion to the Suffering Christ, which was promoted by the Recollect Fathers. Pope Innocent X approved the statue for veneration in 1650 as a Sacramental and Pope Pius VII gave the statue his Apostolic Blessing in 1880, which granted plenary indulgence to those who piously pray before the statue.
The January 9 Feast Day commemorates the transfer / enshrinement in the present Basilica and is attended by several million devotees.

Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Spanish: Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje; Filipino: Mahal na Birhen ng Kapayapaan at Mabuting Paglalakbay)[citation needed], also known as Our Lady of Antipolo and the Virgin of Antipolo (Filipino: Birhen ng Antipolo), is a 17th-century Roman Catholic wooden image of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in the Philippines. This Black Madonna is enshrined in Antipolo Cathedral in the Sierra Madre mountains east of Metro Manila.[1]The image was brought to the country by governor-general Juan Niño de Tabora from Mexico via the galleon El Almirante in 1626. His safe voyage across the Pacific Ocean was attributed to the image, which was given the title of “Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage”. It was substantiated later by six other successful voyages of the Manila-Acapulco Galleons with the image aboard as its patroness.[1][2]
The statue is one of the most celebrated images of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Philippines, gaining devotees since the mid-19th century, having been mentioned by José Rizal in his writings.[3] From May to July each year, the image attracts millions of pilgrims from all over the country and abroad. In 1904, the image was taken down for the Novena anniversary of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Pope Pius XI granted her the Pontifical decree of canonical coronation on 18 June 1925, which was carried out on 28 November 1926.
