The velvet glove will soon make way for the iron fist as the Ministry of Health (MOH) steps up its fight against diabetes, a disease that is costing the country more than $1 billion each year.

The Health Promotion Board has been working with food and drink manufacturers to provide grants for them to reformulate their products to be more healthy. It has, at the same time, been pushing education on healthier eating habits.
