MODEL: The search for Asia’s next top model returns

HIT reality TV series Asia’s Next Top Model is back for another season of fashion, feuds and rigorous competition on FOX Life, one of Asia’s leading general entertainment channels.

Fourteen beautiful young women will compete in season 6, selected from scores of auditioning hopefuls from across the region who fought for their chance to take centrestage in what promises to be the show’s most riveting season yet.

Season 6 introduces one of the most diverse and captivating casts for Asia’s Next Top Model, featuring potential top models from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore.

Each contestant will bring her own distinct look, as well as her extraordinary background and skill set on her quest to bag the coveted title of Asia’s Next Top Model.

Local model Rubini Sambanthan (pix) will be representing Malaysia on the show.

Asia’s Next Top Model season 6 will be hosted by Thailand-based supermodel Cindy Bishop, who will be presenting the show for the third season in a row.

Also returning is celebrity fashion photographer Yu Tsai, who will once again act as creative director to help mentor and guide the models through the competition.

Much-loved Asia’s Next Top Model alumni are also coming back in season 6.

Look out for fan favourites Monika Sta. Maria from season 3, and Shikin Gomez and Nguyen Minh Tu from season 5.

Executive producer and showrunner from Refinery Media, Karen Seah said: “Following the enormous reception from fans of last cycle, we are extremely excited to continue the momentum this cycle with pushing the boundaries of creativity and story-telling against the raw and edgy backdrop of Bangkok.

“Most of all, this season, we are injecting a brand new element into the show, which will give the fans a more intimate glimpse into the girls’ journey and create a new dimension for future cycles to come.”

Asia’s Next Top Model season 6 premieres on FOX Life on Aug 22, and new episodes will air every Wednesday at 9pm on Astro channels 711 and 722 HD; as well as unifi TV channel 455.

Viewers will be able to tune in and get to know all 14 contestants, and see who will triumph in the weekly challenges, all testing their poise, intelligence and aptitude for high fashion, runway and print modelling.

Content will also be released online on the Asia’s Next Top Model website and social media.
